Welcome to the Jumbled website. This is the home of Lucy Foster, a director and performer making contemporary and accessible theatre.
Recent Projects:
Epic
A playful and experimental journey through 20th century history.

Epic is a collaboration between Lucy Foster and Chloe Dechery, as Foster&Dechery, and toured England in May and June 2011. We hope for it to be back on tour in Autumn 2012.
"A boisterous, intelligent energy knits everything together and poses hefty questions in a playful way".
THE GUARDIAN
"A complex and intellectually engaged interrogation of the nature of history itself....One of the real strengths is its intimacy and candour."
EXEUNT
"It's a fine example of the 'new' and playful approach to storytelling"
THE VENUE (Bristol)

'With Epic we will go on a quest for History; the big one, written about in books. The one with World Wars in it, with memorable dates and names you learn at school, but also the personal one, the human one, the one you can relate to.'
During May and June 2011 Epic toured across England to The Junction Cambridge, Exeter Phoenix, Tobacco Factory in Bristol as part of Mayfest, greenroom in Manchester, Carriageworks in Leeds, Soho Theatre in London, Dartington Arts, North Wall in Oxford, Pulse Festival in Ipswich, and Colchester Arts Centre.

Oh, My Green Soap Box
Lucy Foster's solo performance was shown at the Edinburgh Festival in August 2009, followed by dates at Oval House and The Junction, Cambridge.
“Both a comically wayward attempt at environmental activism – achieved via a hilariously crap 'propaganda' video about the plight of the polar bear – and a musing on her own singledom, the genius of the show is that Foster successfully conflates the two, and in doing so touches on something much bigger.”
